Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is inviting applications for the post of Research Assistant under the BHU-Seed Grant Project titled “Design, and Synthesis of Pincer Type NEN (E = Se, Te) Chalcogenaaza Macrocycles and their Complexes with Transition Metals (d7-d10).

About the BHU-Seed Grant Project

BHU-Seed Grant is one of the prestigious funding initiatives that was aimed at supporting innovative research projects in various disciplines. This specific project was basically on the design and synthesis of Pincer-type NEN (E = Se, Te) Chalcogenaaza Macrocycles and their Complexes with Transition Metals (d7-d10). Interested Candidates should participate in synthetic chemistry, transition metal complexes, and advanced materials, as this project will provide candidates with the opportunity to work on a significant and high-impact research problem.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications

To be eligible for the Research Assistant position at BHU, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

🔹 Educational Qualification: The applicant must have an M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Chemistry with at least 55% marks.
🔹 Competitive Exams Qualification: The candidate must have qualified UGC/CSIR-NET or GATE.
🔹 Age Limit: The maximum age limit for applicants is 28 years. However, the age relaxation policy applies as follows:

  • SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates – 5 years relaxation
  • OBC candidates – 3 years relaxation

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications, candidates with the following desirable attributes will be given preference:

A strong academic record with consistent performance throughout the educational career of candidate will be preferred.
Research experience in synthetic chemistry, organometallics, or related fields will be preferred.
Analytical skills and knowledge of characterization techniques such as NMR, IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and Mass Spectrometry will be preferred.
The ability to work independently and in a team environment will be preferred.
